Found in Dubai | Edition 014

Salaam and welcome to a special edition!

I’ve been in Dubai for almost six years, and I've discovered a few spots that most residents take years to find. 150+ spots, to be exact.

For months now, I’ve been working on listing all my favourite non-touristy:

  • Food spots

  • Specialty coffee shops

  • Parks

  • Libraries

  • Kids’ activities

  • BBQ and picnic spots

  • Road trip destinations

And it’s finally here.

🍽 Eat This

Calicut Paragon, Al Karama

Not every day glitz and glamour guys, okay? In fact, sometimes an evening in Karama is exactly what you need. Calicut Paragon serves up South Indian cuisine that’s bold, comforting, and consistent. Their fish curry, biryani, and parottas are well-respected by Dubai foodies.

Drink This

The Grey, Al Wasl

Okay, okay. Back to glitz and glamour. This cafe feels like you’re in a modern art gallery. Not because there’s art hanging on the walls, but because the interior design is so incredible. But the main benefit is that coffee is taken seriously here. Their Ethiopian and Yemeni beans are worth trying.

Courtyard seating is available, too.

🙂 Explore This

Al Barsha Pond Park

Most residents overlook this park. Between the duck ponds, the boat rides, and the city skyline sits one of Dubai’s most calming green spaces. Bring karak, not your laptop.

❤️ Take the Kids Here

Children’s Farm, Sustainable City

Feed the donkeys, chase the ducks, and learn a bit about sustainable farming along the way. It’s quiet, shaded, and simple.

There’s a Brisket offer in Majan that’s not to be missed. 20AED for 100g of brisket. At that price, you can’t go wrong. Check it out at Daddy’s Smoke House.
