Salaam and welcome!
We’re officially in the month of Ramadan, and we’re launching a series dedicated to helping you find amazing Iftar and Suhoor spots.
We’re also giving special attention to restaurants and cafes that are closing during fasting hours, and only serving food and drink after iftar. Huge respect.
Here are your iftar and suhoor plans.
🍽 Eat This
Pilli Pilli BBQ, Al Jafiliya
This East African BBQ joint went viral last year, and for good reason. If you like Hashmi’s BBQ, you need to try Pilli Pilli. Best known for their lamb chops and beef Mishkaki.
☕ Drink This
Fiks Coffee, Umm Suqeim
Near the Onpassive Metro Station, Fiks cafe is serving up specialty coffee, Matcha, and Hot Chocolate after Iftar. Chic outdoor seating is available.

Al Seef, Dubai Creek
This walkable area of Dubai is underrated in my view. You can stroll down Dubai’s creek, watching boats float by and planes taking off in the distance. Plenty of places to break your fast or have suhoor, too. Underground parking is available and recommended!

❤️ Take the Kids Here
The Block Park, Dubai Design District
Situated next to Dubai Design District, overlooking Dubai Creek. You’ll find a shaded playground, a skatepark, prayer rooms, toilets, and a walkable track with some great views.

🧠 Dubai Cheat Code
Ramadan is your chance to experience a new dimension of Dubai’s culture, if you haven’t already. This month, Muslims pray the “Taraweeh” prayer, which begins around 8:10PM this year and usually lasts about an hour. The recitation of the Qur’an during this hour can be heard across the city via mosque loudspeakers. If you’re a non-Muslim, I highly suggest taking a nighttime stroll to experience this beautiful tradition, witness the crowds, and perhaps grab a sweet treat on the way home!
