Salaam and welcome!

You may have noticed that it’s a bit warm outside. Go check and see for yourself. See? Told you.

With the heat in mind, we’re going all in on dessert this week. And if you like Mango Sticky Rice, you’re going to love this email.

On another note, I’m writing this email from Nad Al Sheba Mall (in PDL Coffee, if you must know). It may soon become one of my favourite malls if it’s not careful. Will keep you posted on that.

Here’s your plan for the weekend:

🍽️ Eat This

Saccharose, Mirdif

This place is perfect for the summer. Drive-thru style, so no need to leave your car. The Mango Stick Rice is the best I’ve ever had. Cool, refreshing, and not overly sweet.

If you like Mangos, Coconuts, Rice, or nice things in general, you need to hit this spot, tonight.

TONIGHT.

Then, reply to this email with your review. I may even publish it next week.

☕️ Drink This

Kiyo Roastery, Town Square

You thought specialty coffee could only be found in Dubai’s more central locations? I laugh in the face of that notion.

Kiyo’s baristas are well-trained, and they roast their own beans, which are very well priced. Their coffee is excellent, and the atmosphere is very relaxed, with plenty of seating and plugs for your laptop.

🙂 Chill here

Al Seef

I know what you’re thinking, Al Seef is touristy and feels dead half the time. However, I visited recently and was surprised by how lively it was, as well as the numerous new coffee spots and restaurants that had opened. But my favourite thing about Al Seef is all the walking you can do here.

It has a lot of shade, and there’s a breeze coming in off the creek.

I’d save this for nighttime and grab a cold drink for the stroll.

❤️ Take the Kids Here

Jumeirah Beach Park Playground, Jumeirah

This playground sits right next to the shoreline, so you can combine this with a beach day for the kids. Stick to the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the worst of the heat.
