Salaam and welcome!
I know this week’s edition is a little late; forgive me, but I have delivered the goods below.
How’s your winter going? Well, my phone just shook my entire existence with a Dubai Police warning us to avoid valleys and beaches during the anticipated rainfall tomorrow.
I’m weirdly excited for the rain.
As always, here are your weekend plans. Okay, just Sunday, then.
🍽 Eat This
Kashoka, Motor City
Kashoka is one of those places that reminds you what Dubai’s food scene is really about. It’s not all about trendy Sushi spots. Sometimes you need a good old Jordanian meal at a great price.
My go-to Jordanian dish? Lamb Mansaf.
☕ Drink This
Subko, Alserkal Avenue
Mumbai’s Subko has landed in Al Serkal Avenue. The focus on high-quality coffee and brewing makes me very hopeful. I haven’t visited yet, but I’m only hearing positive vibes. Check it out and report back, will you?

Hatta Winter Festival, Hatta
This is one of the best excuses of the year to leave the city without “leaving” Dubai.
The Hatta Winter Festival brings together mountain views, outdoor markets, food stalls, and family-friendly activities. Crisp air, open space, and no artificial gloss you get elsewhere.
Go early, layer up, and make a day of it.
It’s worth noting that there is no mention of Christmas at this festival, which many locals and Muslim residents prefer.

❤️ Take the Kids Here
Wadi al Amardi Farm, Al Khawaneej
A huge walkable farm where you can pick fresh cucumbers, figs, tomatoes, herbs, and other fruits and vegetables. All organic, all local. There’s an on-site store to buy in bulk, too. Eggs and honey are also available.
The kids have a playground to look forward to, along with feeding goats, chickens, rabbits, and turtles.

🧠 Dubai Cheat Code
My biggest cheat code right now? The outdoors.
In previous years, I let my summer habits eat into my winters. No longer.
Get yourself and your family into Dubai’s parks, lakes, dunes, mountains, camp sites, and hiking trails. It’s all free or super low cost, and far healthier for your mind and body.
Go outside.
That’s all folks! Catch you next Friday.
