Salaam and welcome!
gUyS i fOunD a nEw hIDDen gEM!!
I hate that term, but man, I really did find one last weekend.
I had to resist the urge to film myself eating while massively exaggerating my reaction to every bite. Also, I recently visited Hatta and have secured the goods. More info down below.
As always, here are your weekend plans:
🍽 Eat This
Houd, Al Aweer
Most residents don’t even know where Al Aweer is, let alone tourists. If you want local, authentic cuisine, with classy seating, a water fountain, and desert views, you need to try Houd.
Go for the Emirati breakfast, the cheese-and-honey chebab pancakes, and the chicken harees. Great comfort food, very well priced.
☕ Drink This
The Burrow, Nad al Hammar
Most modern coffee shops look too modern. Coffee joints used to feel homely and cosy. The Burrow gets that part right.
Bring your laptop and your caffeine addicted brain.

🙂 Explore This
Leem Lake, Hatta
Not many people know that Hatta is part of Dubai. It’s a cluster of villages, farms, lakes, dams, and hiking trails that I’m quickly falling in love with.
Leem Lake, in and of itself, is brilliant. A beautiful lakeside walkway with bridges and playgrounds. Boats and canoes for rent. BBQ pavilions. Two specialty coffee shops. A solid ice cream van, and a restaurant with lake-side seating.

❤️ Take the Kids Here
Hatta Honey & Bee Discovery Center
If Leem Lake is on your list now, you may as well throw in a Hatta Honey visit. Kids can safely explore the hives and discover how bees make honey. You can even grab a jar to take home. Dubai’s very own honey.

Need a taxi? Use Careem to book “Hala Max”. It’s the same price as a normal Hala taxi, but with more legroom.
That’s all folks! Catch you next Friday.
