Salaam and welcome!
Okay, we’re definitely inside winter right now. That extra foggy morning confirmed it.
I’m spending more time in parks and planning more road trips. How are you enjoying winter so far?
Here are your weekend plans:
🍽 Eat This
Helvaci Ali, Jumeirah Beach Road
If you‘re craving an authentic Turkish dessert, this is the place. It takes me back to Istanbul. You can drive up, or dine in.
I suggest the “normal” flavoured helva, which they’ll spread across an amazing scoop of Turkish Maras ice cream. Go for nuts and tahini sauce on top. Trust me, okay?

☕ Drink This
Brix Cafe, Jumeirah Fishing Harbour
If you want a café that actually feels crafted, not overhyped, Brix is your spot.
They’re best known for their dessert studio, but their baristas deliver brilliant cups of the good stuff, too. The ambience and fishing harbour views make this a must-visit.

Half Desert Road (Al Awir)
Dubai’s most accessible slice of desert. A 4×4 is ideal but not necessary. If you drive a sedan, you can drive fairly deep into the dune-kissed roads before you’ll have to park up and walk into the sand. Bring a picnic and a flask of tea, and relax between the dunes and the stars.
The last time I went? I saw a man riding his horse into the sunset, and then ten minutes later, I saw another man driving his Cybertruck over the dunes. Just Dubai things.

❤️ Take the Kids Here
Creek Park Fishing Pier
Most folks never venture down this side of Creek Park. Park at gate 5 to make it easier. Playgrounds and open space for the kids, and they might even see someone catch a fish or two.

🧠 Dubai Cheat Code
Call restaurants directly instead of using delivery apps. Talabat, Noon, and the others take 20-30% of each order, which means restaurants lose a huge chunk. If the place has its own drivers, just call and order, and you'll often get it cheaper.
That’s all folks! Catch you next Friday.
